I Own No Rights To Any Of The Music. Only For Listening Pleasure, Thank You.
From the Southside of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, N.Y. to the Lower East Side of Manhattan, across to Puerto Rico, and all over the Tri-State area, The Mix Chemist (AKA Petey) has earned his respect as a living legend in DJ history. Delivering a versatile and unique style, his journey started with a 90-watt radio and a belt-drive turntable with no pitch control. By the age of ten, The Mix Chemist began practicing and developing his "ear skills."
By age 16, he received his first pair of turntables, a mixer, and a mic from his parents for Christmas. He immediately took his skills to the next level, booking "hookie jam" parties and proving he was ready to command a crowd. He created a massive buzz on the streets with his mixtapes and secured private parties that built his stellar reputation.
Now a neighborhood icon and a renowned crowd motivator, The Mix Chemist was performing at a private event when he was offered a residency at a local nightclub on Friday and Saturday nights. Influenced by legends like Kid Capri, Red Alert, Funkmaster Flex, Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, Little Louie Vega, Todd Terry, Frankie Fresh, and Roman Ricardo, he began to focus on the bigger picture. He moved into the most popular nightclubs of the era, including:
-
20 West, Club Vertigo, and Esso’s
-
Club Hollywood, Super Club, and Latin Quarters
-
Club Ohm, Club Pearl, and Fox's
-
Drama, The Arena, Casino, Club Bliss, MK’s, Firestone, and La Villas
The Mix Chemist has also produced eight remix records of his own that have sold in record stores nationwide.
The impact he has made on the culture is immeasurable. Not only has he catapulted the status of "DJ" into a true profession, but he has also left an indelible mark on the music industry as one of the few DJs from the neighborhood to maintain his elite skills while evolving with the times. Formerly known as DJ Pistolero, Petey has far exceeded the expectations of his peers, critics, and fans. His diverse, steadfast, and flawless intuition continues to predict the success of the industry.
He is the man with the solutions: The Mix Chemist.
